An American law allows private companies the right to exploit the resources in outer space. Called “Space Act”, it allows them not only to prospect for metals on asteroids and planets, but also to extract and sell them.
As reality overtakes anticipation, a goldsmith on a screen explores the materiality of an element with sensitives gestures: Hands palpate, hesitate, massage, manipulate, and feel in a vain and utopian search.

The wheel of fortune is spinning. In the foreground, real, iridescent, metallic pebbles, seem from the future. Chercheuses d’or create a sense of strangeness between desire, illusion and speculation. Through the way it is arranged the installation plays with ambiguity.

This work functions as a decoy. It raises about the value we place on gold, about the limit of territorial resources and their depletion. mensions variables
